Terms of Service
Last updated: July 31, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Ratemeter, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you're using Ratemeter on behalf of a business, you're agreeing on that business's behalf and confirming you have the authority to do so.
2. Description of Service
Ratemeter helps local service businesses request customer reviews via text and email, track review request activity, and manage their online reputation. Features and pricing tiers are described on our pricing page and may change over time.
3. Account Registration
You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
4. Subscription & Billing
New accounts receive a limited number of free review requests before a paid subscription is required. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe and renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel or change your plan at any time through your account's billing settings; no refunds are provided for partial billing periods unless required by law.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Ratemeter only to request reviews from your own genuine customers who have received a genuine service from your business, and to comply with all applicable laws regarding electronic messaging, including obtaining any consent required to text or email a customer. You agree not to use the service to send spam, harassing messages, or messages to individuals who haven't done business with you.
You further agree not to attempt to manipulate, filter, or selectively suppress negative reviews in a manner that violates Google's review policies or applicable consumer protection laws.
6. Customer Data You Submit
When you submit your customers' contact information to send review requests, you represent that you have a lawful basis and appropriate consent to contact them for this purpose. You remain responsible for compliance with applicable telemarketing, SMS, and email regulations in your jurisdiction.
7. Intellectual Property
Ratemeter and its original content, features, and design are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your business name, logo, and customer data remain your property.
8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
Ratemeter is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee any specific increase in reviews, rating, or business outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ratemeter is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
9. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including misuse of the messaging features described in Section 5.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Ratemeter after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
